Welcome
Louise Higgs is a versatile London based multi-disciplinary artist born in Walthamstow, East London whose work spans photography, film, sculpture and writing poetry. Her artwork explores shared human experience, the ‘felt sense’, and everyday hidden aspects making them overt - toward legacy/memorial pieces. Passionate about the ‘Arts and Craft movement’, process and reflection remain pivotal: crafting, hand-hammering metal, forming, and working in wood.
Louise has a love of nature, with a daily practice of taking photographs at Twilight. Her ‘Twilight Series’ focusses on the quality/differences of light - noticing form, colour, flowers, luminescence, and the negative space surrounding- recently evolving into painting. She is also a qualified Art Psychotherapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK.

Twilight Series
I have a daily practice of taking photographs at Twilight, when the sun sets in relation to the horizon: There are 3 transitions: Civil (Blue hour), Nautical and Astronomical. This is a time when I can re-align myself in Nature, be still, breathe, and be guided by my intuition as to the focus of my lens during Twilight.
